In an era where hygiene and safety have become a top priority, Syzan Contract Manufacturing played a key role in the design, engineering, and production of Medi Protect’s Clean Step — an innovative shoe disinfection device that allows users to conveniently sanitize their footwear before entering private or sensitive areas.
The product was designed to meet the growing need for efficient and contactless hygiene solutions in both public and private environments.
The Concept & Design Challenge
The goal was simple yet ambitious: to create a compact, user-friendly, and reliable device that could disinfect shoes quickly, safely, and automatically, without the need for manual operation or chemical waste.
The challenge lay in combining functionality, modern aesthetics, and durable engineering within a small footprint suitable for use in homes, hotels, offices, or medical facilities.
Our Approach
Designed, engineered, and manufactured entirely by Syzan Contract Manufacturing, the Clean Step device embodies the synergy between innovation, precision, and usability.
Our engineering team developed the full product architecture, integrating electrical components, proximity sensors, and LED status indicators into a sleek and durable metal housing.
The system works on a fully automatic cycle:
- The user places one shoe inside the disinfection port.
- A proximity sensor activates the process automatically.
- The LED indicator glows red during the active cycle, which lasts approximately five seconds.
- When complete, the LED turns white, signaling that disinfection is done and the shoe is safe to remove.
This smart, intuitive process minimizes human contact while ensuring consistent and effective disinfection — meeting the highest safety standards for public and private use.

The Medi Protect Clean Step represents a breakthrough in practical hygiene technology.
